Julia Parker: Gardener, Broadcaster, Podcaster, Author: The Little Grower’s Cookbook

Leanne Smith grew up in rural Suffolk surrounded by a wild and untameable coastline, bountiful hedgerows, grassland meadows and expansive skies. Coming from a family of gardeners, her love of gardening informs her floral design and creative choices.

Artfully elegant floral design, inspired by the love of seasonal botanicals. Wildstone Floral specialises in artful, elegant and naturalistic designs. Clients include Jo Malone London, Gaze Burvill, Alitex, Ceramic Botanist, English Heritage, and The National Trust. Leanne has created installations and arrangements at RHS Chelsea since 2022, and demonstrates floristry at national events such as The Ideal Home Show.

George has been foraging and using wild foods for some years, supplying the freshest foraged wild edibles to some of the country’s top restaurants, chefs and food establishments.

After years of being immersed in the ‘wild’ himself, George now focuses on encouraging others to appreciate the significance of our native countryside, and how we can enjoy and protect it for future generations.

Over his years of foraging George has accrued an in-depth knowledge of our countryside, its diverse habitats and the variety of plants and fungi each contains. He has covered the length and breadth of the country from the Scottish Highlands to the moors and coasts of Cornwall, in search of new native edibles as well as sustainable sources to pick them.

In 2020 Katy Watson swapped her life in concert dresses performing as as soprano andretrained in horticulture and garden design at the English Gardening School based at the Chelsea Physic Garden. She then went on to win both the Judges Choice and People’s Choice Award in her first show border at the Belvoir Castle Flower Show sponsored by the London College of Garden Design.

Katy is passionate about giving people confidence in their own garden and helping them to discover and nurture an enthusiasm for plants. She now works as a ‘gardener with’, working along side people to help them tackle their gardens, prune, divide, replant and so on as well as also offering consultation visits to work through a plan of action including planting design and plant sourcing for a garden.

A Summer Garden Party in the incredible garden of Paul Morrow. In recognition of Paul’s generosity in hosting our society we will be donating to a charity of his choice.

Talented Laura Fisher at Wild Willow Flowers turns her hand to bringing local producers of cut flowers, seed merchants and plantsmen together under one rural roof.
